Filming Soundbite

On September 21, 2018 I directed the promo for the feature film Soundbite. It serves as both a promo for the feature film as well as material for the new online digital short form horror platform: Horror House Media, under Supreme Minds Entertainment..   the crew Soundbite is a story that is written by myself and my writing partner Brantley J. Brown and it was the first piece filmed for Horror House. It was an amazing experience. Ray McCann assembled a great team of filmmakers, which included our director of photography Doug Freirich, Gaffer/Grip Calisto Thompson, and BlumHouse special effects guru Zack Edwards. Together we created a fun, low-key, laid back and effective ensemble. I could not have asked for a better team of people. We were very small but we moved fast and efficiently....

Studio Institute Global

I was invited by my friend at Studio Institute Global to come in and teach script supervising to some students. They were having students from Saudi Arabia come in for a 5-week film course, as the Saudi government is looking to grow their film commission. I only taught for 3 days and I had two students - Aliaa and Ibrahim. They were amazing and very eager to learn. I know I gave them so much information in the short time I was there with them, but it felt good to help them understand the role of a script supervisor and how we work with each department in making the film! I am grateful to these two students but also grateful to the students as a whole. Their passion for filmmaking reminded of why I walked off my job 13 years ago to follow my passion. I am also thankful to Tobi and Ale...

Boss Cheer on Brat TV

In May of 2018 I worked on a webseries for Brat TV called Boss Cheer. It stars  Tessa Brooks and Tristan Tales and it is their newest show where Madison, played by Tessa takes over her old cheer squad as head coach. Even though I worked on crew as the Script Supervisor, the director asked me to a small role in the film. Just a simple scene: but you know I love to act when I can!  Great news is, I even made the trailer. You can see me and Amir Mo as Coach Preston at 00:36 right before I kicked his ass out for cheating! https://youtu.be/9VfRRGYlW0M

Thank you to my nephew Chris Minnick who surprised me today with a drawing. He is self taught and has been practicing - so he thought he would draw a picture of me as he saw me - a Hollywood producer. I love this picture and I will keep it up on my website. It inspires me to keep working for what I love and for what I believe in. Thank you Chris - your uncle is proud of you!

The Richard Wilmore Show

June 8, 2018 - Today I was a guest on The Richard Wilmore Show with fellow guest Katerina Cozias. It was a great and fun interview. Each interview is 15 minutes and I am the second one. We talked about my podcast Mimosas With Michael and also some of my most current projects, which I am working on, as well as how I got my start in the industry. I also gave some advice to those who are starting out and want to follow their dreams. It is definitely a fun interview - if I say so myself! https://youtu.be/vCJHAclUC48

Wayfarers Chapel

Today, in celebration of Earth Day, the Wayfarers Chapel in Palos Verdes had their second annual art show and poetry reading called 'Art by the Sea with Poetic Expression'. Yours truly was a feature poet invited to read. I haven't been an invited poet in over 15 years (if not more.) Attending today felt like coming out of retirement - and I am grateful for my friend Georgia Washington for asking me to be a part of the event. The weather today was a wonderful 72 degrees with a slight breeze as we saw Catalina Island hiding out in the distant haze. The waves crashed towards as we stood up over the high cliff. It was an amazing inspiring day and I was grateful to be a part of the festivities today! Also after the reading today I have decided to move forward and being writing my second book. I...
