Day 1 - May 30, 2020 California We are on the tail end of a global pandemic, there are riots all over the United States because of the deaths of three unarmed black people in the last few weeks, and we are entering into hurricane season on the East Coast.....but my father, older nephew, and I are about to embark on a road trip for a week to visit my sister and my two younger nephews. Yes...it is a long drive for only a few days. But since my father and I had to cancel our trip to London last month and after being on quarantine for two months, we are eager to get out and do something! My Eyes Can you see my eyes through the haze and smoke?       The eyes that welcome friends?       The eyes that comfort the weak? The eyes that stare back at you with   stunned, unashamed anguish?
